New Delhi, July 13 (LAB) In an inspiring story of resilience and determination, 19-year-old Harsh Gupta from Kalyan has secured admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, overcoming severe financial hardship, academic setbacks, and a debilitating medical condition.
Harsh’s father is a roadside pani puri vendor, and the family of six lives in a small two-room chawl in Thane district, Maharashtra. Until his Class 10 board exams during the COVID-19 pandemic, Harsh was unaware of IITs and their competitive entrance exams. By the time he joined Motion Education in Kota for JEE preparation, the Class 11 syllabus was almost complete, and he struggled to catch up.
His journey was far from easy. Harsh failed his Class 11 exams, facing criticism from relatives and deep self-doubt. However, Motion Education stepped in with structured academic support and mentorship, helping him regain confidence.
Adding to his challenges, Harsh was diagnosed with Rectal Prolapse, a painful and recurring medical condition requiring frequent hospital visits and long rest periods, further disrupting his studies. During this difficult phase, Motion Education’s faculty, especially RRD Sir, Head of the JEE Division, provided him with continuous academic guidance and emotional support.
Despite his health struggles and personal losses, including the death of close relatives before major exams, Harsh remained focused. Taking a drop year and re-enrolling at Motion Education, he cleared JEE Advanced in his second attempt and secured admission to IIT Roorkee. He had also scored an impressive 98.9 percentile in JEE Main.
“There were moments when I was physically and emotionally exhausted. But Motion never gave up on me. They believed in me even when I lost belief in myself,” Harsh shared.
His success story reflects Motion Education’s commitment to nurturing students from underprivileged backgrounds. Led by renowned educator NV Sir (Nitin Vijay), Motion Education recorded outstanding results in JEE Advanced 2025, with six students ranked in the Top 100, 23 in the Top 500, and 47 in the Top 1000.
Of the 6,332 Motion students who appeared for the exam, 3,231 qualified, achieving a qualifying ratio of 51.02%—more than double the national average of 23.68%.
These exceptional outcomes underline Motion Education’s focused pedagogy, expert mentorship, and student-first approach, setting new benchmarks in India’s competitive exam coaching ecosystem.
