New Delhi, March 23, 2026 (LAB) GRIHA Council and Delhi Technological University (DTU) have signed an agreement to strengthen education and research in green buildings and sustainable development.
The MoU was signed by Registrar Binod Doley of DTU and Shabnam Bassi of GRIHA Council in the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Prateek Sharma and GRIHA Council CEO Sanjay Seth.
Under this partnership, both institutions will work together on academic and research activities focused on sustainability. This includes field-based studies, live projects, internships, and research linked to real industry and policy needs.
A key highlight of the collaboration is the launch of a joint M.Tech programme in Green Buildings and Sustainable Built Environment. The programme will focus on practical learning and help students gain skills needed for climate-friendly construction and infrastructure.
DTU Vice Chancellor Prof. Prateek Sharma said the initiative will help align education with India’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. He added that the programme will prepare students to balance technological growth with environmental responsibility.
GRIHA Council CEO Sanjay Seth said the partnership will help train future professionals to design sustainable and resource-efficient buildings. He noted that such efforts are important for building a low-carbon and climate-resilient future for India.
The collaboration aims to create skilled professionals who can lead the country’s green building and sustainability efforts.
